With the weather getting a little bit cheerier we decided to take a quick dip in the sea but opted for neoprene in deference to the season. We forgot to take a thermometer so we cannot be sure of the temperature, but, https://www.seatemperature.org suggests that Southend-on-Sea currently has seawater at 18.1 degrees Celcius. All the same it seemed more like 15 to us. We managed a quarter of an hour swimming and collected some sea glass and pebbles with holes for craft activities.
Great time at the beach, but your PE teacher is badly out of shape and may need to cut short the following science lesson for a little recovery nap ☺️
