We decided to take the home education route beacause we did not get a place in Jules's older sister's secondary school. Throuhgout this time Jules's independent study has been supervised by Mum and Dad with support from a small independent education provider and some private tuiton for music. We tried out with a different secondary school in the next town but the travel and then the COVID19 lockdown made this unapealing. We are using this blog as an indicative record of the sorts of things we get up to.

One of the big advantages of home education is taking field trips that would not be possible at a conventional school. For us these have included taking short trips to Bilbao, orientation exercises in London and Cambridge as well as regular PE sessions swimming at the local beach
